NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL EDUCATIONAL EVALUATION
Westchester Wellbeing offers comprehensive Neuropsychological Educational Evaluations designed to help individuals understand their learning strengths and challenges. These evaluations are crucial for identifying educational needs, diagnosing learning disabilities, and developing effective strategies to support academic success.
Neuropsychological Educational Evaluation is an in-depth assessment that combines psychological, neuropsychological and educational testing to understand how cognitive, emotional, and developmental factors affect learning and academic performance. It is used to identify learning disabilities, assess cognitive abilities, and determine educational needs.
BENEFITS OF NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL EDUCATIONAL EVALUATIONS
Accurate Diagnosis: Helps identify learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, or ADHD, and provides a clear understanding of cognitive and academic strengths and challenges.
Personalized Educational Plan: Provides recommendations for individualized educational plans (IEPs) or 504 plans, including accommodations and interventions to support learning.
Improved Academic Performance: Offers strategies and recommendations to enhance learning and academic achievement.
Support for Emotional Well-Being: Identifies any emotional or behavioral issues impacting learning and suggests appropriate support.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE EVALUATION
Initial Consultation: We begin with a detailed interview and data gathering session to understand your specific concerns, educational history, and goals for the evaluation.
Assessment Sessions: The evaluation typically involves two or more sessions, including cognitive and academic testing, as well as behavioral and emotional assessments. If applicable, caregivers and teachers will be asked to complete rating scales and/or questionnaires aimed at providing contextual information. The duration and number of sessions depend on the complexity of the issues being assessed.
Detailed Report: After completing the evaluation, you will receive a comprehensive report that includes findings, interpretations, and actionable recommendations. The report will provide insights into learning strengths and challenges and offer specific strategies to support academic success.
Follow-Up Meeting: We schedule a feedback conference to discuss the results, answer any questions, and develop an action plan based on the recommendations. If application, school based meetings can also be arranged
