OUR APPROACH

Meet Dr. Merav Hasler

At Westchester Wellbeing, I believe that a neuropsychological evaluation should do more than identify a diagnosis. It should provide a meaningful understanding of how a child thinks, learns, and experiences the world. Through comprehensive, individualized assessment, I work to identify each child's unique pattern of cognitive, academic, attentional, executive functioning, and social-emotional strengths and needs. My goal is to translate complex findings into a clear and practical understanding of the child, helping families make informed decisions about educational programming, interventions, accommodations, and supports while giving children the language to better understand and advocate for themselves.

Dr. Merav Hasler, Psy.D.

Dr. Merav Hasler is a pediatric neuropsychologist specializing in comprehensive neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations of children and adolescents. With more than a decade of experience working with children, families, and schools throughout the New York metropolitan area, Dr. Hasler brings a unique combination of clinical expertise and extensive knowledge of educational systems to the assessment process.

Dr. Hasler earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and her master's and doctoral degrees from St. John's University in Queens, New York. She completed advanced training in pediatric neuropsychological assessment and has extensive experience evaluating children with a wide range of developmental, learning, attentional, executive functioning, and social-emotional concerns, including ADHD, learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, and complex or overlapping presentations.

Prior to specializing in neuropsychological assessment, Dr. Hasler spent more than a decade working within school settings, including as a school psychologist. This background provides her with an in-depth understanding of how a child's neuropsychological profile translates into everyday functioning in the classroom. She is particularly skilled at helping families understand the relationship between evaluation findings and educational programming, including IEPs, Section 504 Plans, specialized instruction, related services, interventions, accommodations, and school placement.

Dr. Hasler approaches each evaluation as an opportunity to understand the whole child rather than simply arrive at a diagnosis. Her assessments examine cognitive abilities, academic achievement, language, learning and memory, attention, executive functioning, visual-motor abilities, adaptive functioning, and social-emotional development as appropriate to the individual child. Information from testing is integrated with developmental and educational history, parent and teacher perspectives, behavioral observations, and school records to develop a nuanced understanding of both a child's strengths and the factors that may be interfering with learning or everyday functioning.

A central goal of Dr. Hasler's work is to make neuropsychological findings understandable and useful. She works collaboratively with families to translate complex assessment results into a practical roadmap for intervention, educational planning, and support. When developmentally appropriate, she also provides feedback directly to children and adolescents, helping them understand how their brains work, recognize their strengths, and develop the language necessary to advocate for what they need.

Dr. Hasler is fluent in Hebrew and is able to provide services bilingually when appropriate.

Outside of her professional work, Dr. Hasler enjoys traveling, Pilates, and spending time with her children and family.
